Artists will be painting their walls in August between Tuesday 23rd and Saturday 29th from noon-ish till sundown. After hours, we have planned some events where we’ll all be holding cans of beer, not aerosol.

PORTUGAL. THE MAN @ WHITE OWL SOCIAL CLUB
As the frontman of local band Portugal. The Man, John Gourley has spent a lot of time doodling in the back of tour vans. Over the years, his sketches have become the exclusive artwork for the band’s albums and have garnered a fan base of their own. On the opening night of FFTT, Portugal. The Man will play a kick-off show at White Owl Social Club with all proceeds going toward next year’s mural festival.

SKETCH PARTY @ UNION PINE
Inspired by all the murals that are popping up around town? Thursday night will be an opportunity to get sketchy with the artists at a drink-n-draw event at Union Pine. There will be also be live performances by NeoPoPoMo, Tron “Grape God” and Ripley Snell, video projections, installations, music and plenty of dranks.

FRIDAY AUGUST 28th
SCULPTURE GARDEN @ PORTLAND ART MUSEUM
With most artists nearing completion on their walls, Friday night will be a decompression session as well as a mash-up of the traditional and urban art worlds. Head to the Portland Art Museum’s courtyard for a tasty brew and to see sculptural installations by FFTT artists AJ Fosik, Peter Gronquist and Blaine Fontana.

SATURDAY AUGUST 29th
FFTT BIKE TOUR @ ALL OVER TOWN
After last year’s success, we will be leading a cross-town bicycle tour that will cruise by most of festival’s walls in one fell swoop. It will begin at Alex Peterson’s mural on SE Ankeny + 28th at 11am sharp and end at the Ford Building’s multi-artist mural at SE Division + 11th around 2pm. For rehydration purposes, the after-party will be across the road at Apex shortly thereafter.
